What inspires you to be part of nature?
Science in general inspire me; even more so it taught me the beauty and strength of Mother Nature. When you look into the pond, river, or creek -- there's always an reflection. She is like a mirror to your soul and nature nourishes, heals, and feeds your soul at the same time.
What is your favorite tree and why?
Magnolia trees is my absolute favorite! Magnolia has been known to live more than 100 years. There are about 12 species in Georgia, I believe. Strong, sturdy, and beautiful! This tree has been with me throughout my childhood and I remember that I lived in an apartment complex that had a little piece of nature in the back. I would run out there after school and stay for hours; I would get lost into my own world the minute I sat on her branch. Also, Willow trees and Japanese Maple trees are both my favorites because both trees act as our nature clock. When a Willow blooms -- its Spring time and when a Japanese Maple's leaves change color-- it's Fall time. When you lay under a Japanese Maple, it's a sight that will take your breath away.
